Meet the Instructor
Emily Brown, LMSW
Emily has seven years of experience in the mental health field and has served as an outpatient therapist at the DePriest Center for the past two years. She is passionate about working with children and families, helping them navigate the complexities of life. Her background in applied behavior analysis, play therapy, case management, and creating inclusive spaces for children with disabilities enables her to approach seminar participants with both empathy and a comprehensive perspective. She also has extensive training in child development, trauma-informed care, and conflict resolution.
Emily believes that even during seasons of change, families can discover new ways to thrive. Her teaching style is relational and practical, blending research-based strategies with real-world examples to equip parents with the tools they need to navigate co-parenting effectively. Parents will find her classes to be nonjudgmental, safe, and respectful of individuals from all walks of life.
Outside of the counseling space, Emily enjoys playing with her Corgi, having board game nights with her husband and friends, and reading a good book.
